Difficulty Ratings for our Digital Products

To build this product on your own, our digital products are usually coming with several files:

  • the complete .step model to import it into your CAM/CAD program
  • .svg file and/or .dxf file for usage within a layer-based program, such as Easel
  • the accompanying notes as .pdf will guide you through the first steps, including some tips and tricks for you to get started

Sometimes you need to make multiple parts out of one file to achieve the desired product.

Since some of our digital products require more knowledge or several machine setups, like multiple end mills you need to use on one or even numerous parts, we rate them into three different levels. But no worries, if you are slightly dedicated and enjoying working on your CNC, you can master every difficulty rating:

Beginner
Not more than one setup; no need to change bits while maintaining zero. Sometimes you need to repeat the same process. Overall, machining can quickly be achieved with Easel.
Moderate Up to two setups are required. Mostly with different bits (e.g., a drill bit, plus a typical end mill), but no worries, most end mills can also drill. It might get tricky with Easel since you need to maintain work zero for the different setups.
Advanced Two or more setups are required. Different bits while maintaining work zero is necessary. Easel is not recommended.
